Samuel Gdula is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a BA, Summa Cum Laude, in English. He is a member of the Apex Writers Group, an inductee into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for two-year Schools, and the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society for four-year schools.
Samuel is a lifelong fan of the fantasy genre, having grown up reading books in the worlds of the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Elric, Middle Earth, Pathfinder, and more. As early as middle school, he realized that his calling was to pay forward the excitement, inspiration, and creativity he found in the written word.
A shameless nerd, he has spent much of the last decade playing both tabletop and computer games, in various rules systems, with his close circle of friends. This has provided him with first-hand feedback regarding what fantasy readers look for in a new book or story. Sometimes, they hunger for something unique, which approaches a tale from a fresh perspective. And sometimes a reader might want to kick back, relax, and read, once again, about a band of adventurers exploring a monster-infested dungeon and relieving it of its treasure.
